Music continues to be the foundation of every day and for that I'm beyond grateful. For me it's therapy and having the opportunity / ability to record my own music on my own time is a blessing to say the least. With my kids taking an interest in pursuing music I'm even more driven to keep going. They push me to be better and keep creating.
A lot of the artists I work with motivate me as well. They never quit. Whether they're 25, 35, 45, 55, 65, 75 or 85, they never stop. They continue to create new goals and enjoy every step of the process. If anything that's the one thing I need to work on the most. Not the music, not the creative aspect of it; but enjoying every minute. I'm always two steps ahead of myself and unsatisfied with where I am. I don't take the time to recognize that where I am is pretty damn cool. And where I am IS pretty damn cool. I'm very fortunate to be able to do what I do for a living and for the people I get to work with on a daily basis. The team I have at work is incredible. The artists and artist teams I get to associate with are remarkable. And our home is full of love, music and support. What more can a man ask for?
So here's to creating and loving every minute of it. Here's to being thankful for those around us and being loved. And here's to being able to love and share it all with the world. The reality is we all need each other to keep going and staying on track. The world needs music to share it's stories. We need each other and each other's support. And music is the perfect vehicle to accomplish all of that and more!
